The Importance of Communication

Communication is the most critical role to the dentist-patient relationship. We empower our patients with the knowledge to understand the available procedures, to help them make their decisions accordingly. But in order to provide you with the most relevant information that is unique for your situation we need information such as medical history in order to give you the right treatment.

The doctors at South Boston Dental Associates are always available for consultations and questions to ensure that relationship is built upon a foundation of trust and respect.

Your First Visit

Your first appointment will be about getting to know each other so that we can be informed about your goals your medical history, and talk about your treatment options. Occasionally, treatment can be performed the same day as the consultation. However, a medical history or treatment strategy will require an evaluation and a second appointment to provide treatment on another day.

You can save some time by printing and filling out the forms for your first visit before your arrival. The forms help us understand your medical history and provide other useful information for your treatment.

Other helpful information that you can collect before your first visit:

  • X-Rays (if applicable)
  • Any current medical prescriptions you are on
  • If you have dental insurance, bring the necessary completed forms. This will save time and allow us to help you process any claims.

IMPORTANT:
Patients under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian on their first consultation visit.

Let us know of any relevant medical condition or prescription you have before surgery in case it may interfere with treatment.
